Giants start making roster cuts over weekend

The Giants cut safety Aaron Rouse and cornerback Londen Fryar. I was not surprised at all by Aaron Rouse getting cut and I’m embarrassed to say I don’t recall even hearing about this Londen guy. It looks like there will still be some tweaking to the secondary with these moves. Bringing in safety Antrel Rolle was a good first move, followed by these cuts. I expect the team to be aggressive in finding another safety. Reports said the G-Men were speaking to no less then 4 safeties before signing Rolle. Darren Sharper’s name floated around more then the others. Will Jerry Reese add another cornerback into his game plan? Who will be brought in to fill the MLB position? We also need to look at backup QB’s now that David Carr is a 49er.

I think another safety is coming via draft, and maybe we’ll get Morrison from Oakland to fix the MLB spot.

I don’t know about you, but after signing Rolle, this is what I’d do: Get Morrison (he has a 3rd round tender), then draft a safety and a LB in the first two rounds, not necessarily in this order.

After that, get a couple O-linemen and a DT on the second day of the draft. What do you think Rob?

    Hey Buddy,

I agree that we will grab another safety in the draft. I have been hearing a lot of chatter about that Morrison kid too. I’m not sure what they are going to do about the MLB position. I also agree that we need an OL and DT. Jerry Reese is not disappointing on the intrigue meter this year.
