NEW YORK – The New York Giants had their bye week this weekend and hopefully the players are getting healthy with their time off. News of players returning to their home towns or vacation homes were all over the news this week. For example, safeties Antrel Rolle and Kenny Phillips made it perfectly clear they would be heading down to Miami during the break. Other players headed to Massachusetts like LB Mark Herzlich and others went to small towns all across America. I’m glad the guys will be getting a much deserved break before the hard part of the schedule begins. Many fans are very excited to see rookie CB Prince Amukamara get on the field for the first time. The secondary could use a boost of talent and Prince might be able to provide a spark.
The two most important scores I will be giving you today are the Washington Redskins and Dallas Cowboys scores. The Giants needed both of these division rivals to lose to keep a solid pace in dominating the NFC East and making it back to the playoffs. The first game up today was the Redskins game. The Panthers came through for Big Blue and beat the Redskins 33-20. QB Cam Newton is the future of football and runs like a big Mike Vick who can actually throw the ball too. Washington now falls to 3-3 on the year and stays in second place in the NFC East.
The second game on today was the Cowboys game. Unfortunately, the Cowboys didn’t oblige Giants fans this weekend, they beat the Rams thoroughly 34-7 and improved to 3-3. It seems like the Redskins were playing better then their 3-3 record and the Cowboys were playing much worse then their 3-3 record. In reality, they are both only one game out of first place. You can bet the Giants will be doing everything in their power to hold onto first place and keep both of these teams at bay.
It will be nice to see Big Blue get back to work next weekend (10/30/11) when they play the Miami Dolphins at 1:00 PM EST. I expect the Dolphins to play like a bunch of crazed dogs (Thank you Mr. Taylor) after another heartbreaking loss to the Broncos and QB Tim Tebow today. Congrats to Tebow on winning his first NFL football game as a starting QB.
Are you relieved that the Giants bye week has now officially come and gone?

looking forward to the g-men bringing back some players and very excited to see the prince and what he can bring to the table.i was rooting very hard for the rams yesterday,i actually thought the panthers would beat the skins who were most likely playing over there heads.i dont think dallas is still is not all that good,i just think the rams packed it in,poor spags,i thought this guy would at least have a defense lol.the giants really had an opportunity to step on the necks in the division by beating the seahawks 2 weeks ago, who stunk it up yesterday against the browns.looking at that game i told my wife how did these guys beat us at our house, big blue really let one get away.anyway 4-2 heading into the abyss, and not looking past anyone by no means, but after the dolphins game, things get hairy but i think now with the players the giants have coming back, they will be up for the challenge.family went back home yesterday,it was a nice visit.but now my wife and i get the couch back and were ready for big blue to get to the next level.
me too buddy. they were talking about jacobs, barden and prince all being out on the field which is a good sign. i’m glad this boring bye week is out of the way but i’m concerned about playing an enraged miami team sunday. those guys have been roughed up and will play insane. lol i’m glad to hear that you and the misses got your comfy couch back lol.
im relieved the bi-week is over.but there are some scary scenarios on Halloween weekend that disturb me and could haunt the g-men.sage rosenfels replacing matt moore for the dolphins and sticking it too the g-men on sunday.and down the road tiki barber replacing hightower in washington and having a day against us at home against the skins in a few weeks.those are just nightmare scenarios on halloween weekend that i dont believe will actually happen, but could be horrifying for any giant fan to think about.but we all know that when the smoke clears holloween weekend, the dolphins 0-7 nightmare continues and tiki barber wont make any team.booooooooo.scary lol.
Hey Bobby, I’m glad the bye week is over too. You make some interesting points and it would be funny if some of those came to fruition. The Tiki Barber to Washington would be particularly funny to me. I’m sure there are a lot of guys left on Big Blue from the 2007 team that remembers his negative comments and wouldn’t mind removing his helmet for him. We will have to wait and see what happens.
looks like lohsman will get the start over rosenfels, some sort of blood disorder for sage.the nightmare of rosenfels coming back to haunt the g-men is over lol.although i wish him well,he seemed like a good guy in the lockeroom and sidelines.as for the tiki return talk,im with ya on the guys that want to knock his helmet off,im one of em lol.
Yes, I saw that too. The Giants match up pretty well with the Dolphins on paper man and I don’t think this is going to be an easy win. Our defense is going to win this game for us by stopping their offense. Our offense is going to put up 30-35 points without a doubt but the defense needs to stop giving away so many big plays to opposing offenses.
