Happy Thanksgiving New York Giants Fans

November 25, 2010

NEW YORK – Everyone here at the nygreporter would like to wish all of our readers a very Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope that most of you will be with family and enjoying some great food and good company. For those of you who are unable to be with family, for any number of reasons, you are not forgotten either. Especially the men and women serving our military overseas. We are thankful for the service our military provides to keep America safe and strong. I hope that our readers remember the reason for Thanksgiving and can perform a random act of kindness to someone who truly needs it. These are rough days we are living in and you would be surprised by how much it means to some, to receive a simple act of kindness.

Be thankful that you are able to have such a charmed life in this great country of ours and keep your head up during these hard times. I hope that you all enjoy some great food and drink and the football games that have become a part of the Thanksgiving tradition. There are some really good games on today, including our division rivals, the Dallas Cowboys facing the red hot Saints. Dallas (3-7) isn’t a real threat to our standings but it would be nice to watch them lose on Thanksgiving anyway.

God bless all of you and your families and don’t forget that the New York Giants will face the Jaguars this Sunday at 1PM EST at New Meadowlands stadium. Fans will anxiously be expecting a victory against Jacksonville to bring the team back on track. If ever there was a must win game, this is it. I predict a 34-17 Giants victory.

Happy Veterans Day to all of our Readers

November 11, 2010

NEW YORK – Everyone here at the nygreporter would like to sincerely wish all of the veterans around the world, a very Happy Veterans Day. You are not forgotten!

There is nothing we can do but honor you all and give our sincerest thanks for all of your sacrifice. I have to admit that I get filled with pride every time I read about Head Coach Tom Coughlin doing something for the veterans. He has been a class act when it comes to this subject since he arrived in New York and as a fan, I really appreciate that. Coughlin is a hands on type of man, so he understands more then anyone what these soldiers, troops, airmen and sailors go through. Coughlin has visited the troops overseas and has done a tremendous job at letting those men and women know that they are not only appreciated but honored by those of us back home.

There are also a number of Giants players who have contributed to the cause and who share a very deep sense of patriotism. We salute all of you as well for your thoughtfulness and effort in giving those men and women a moment of peace and happiness. I’m sure that Wellington Mara is smiling down on all of you in the Giants organization.

The Giants (6-2) will play the Dallas Cowboys (1-7) this Sunday at 4:15 PM EST at New Meadowlands stadium.

If there was ever a prefect day to do so, today would be the day. Thank You!

Happy Halloween to all New York Giants Fans

October 31, 2010

NEW YORK – Hello Giants Fans, everyone here at the nygreporter would like to wish you a very Happy Halloween! Even though Big Blue has their bye week this weekend, there will still be some great NFL games to watch when all of the kids are done trick or treating. The Jets will play the Packers for the 1 o’clock game, a game I think most football fans will be looking forward to. The Vikings will also play the Patriots in what should be a good game and the Saints face the Steelers. It won’t be the same as watching the G-Men play but at least were only half way done with the 2010 NFL season.

I hope that all of the kids who read our stories here remember to be safe today and look both ways when they cross the street. Also remember to have your parents help you check your candy and be sure to have an adult with you when you go trick or treating. And for anyone going to a Halloween party, I hope you have a lot of fun and enjoy the festivities of Halloween.

If you think you have an awesome costume and want to share what you will be this year, please feel free to leave us a comment below and tell us about your costume.

BOO!!!

Hello Giants Fans,

On behalf of the NYG Reporter, I would like to wish all of our readers a very Happy 4th of July. It is fantastic that we can all celebrate our country’s Independence Day with family and friends in peace. We must remember the soldiers fighting all over the world to make this peace at home a reality. I applaud and salute all of the members of the US armed forces and thank them for their sacrifice.

I hope that our readers enjoy this special weekend with baseball, BBQ and beer or whatever your family tradition is. I’m not going to make this a long article, we simply wanted to say Happy 4th of July weekend!

NYG Reporter Honors The Fallen on Memorial Day

May 31, 2010

What a wonderful country we live in. America has been a beacon of light to the world for many years now. This is the land of the free and the home of the brave. It’s hard to believe that we have been at war in Afghanistan since October 7, 2001, nine years now (104 months) and no end in sight. The Afghanistan war will soon surpass Vietnam, as the longest war in American history. There have been 1,000 brave souls that gave their lives for our freedom. The United States has spent over one trillion dollars on the Afghan war alone. The war in Iraq has claimed even more of our brave men and women, with over 5,400 soldiers making the ultimate sacrifice.

The New York Giants head coach, Tom Coughlin, has visited the troops overseas and he is an ex-military man himself. I’m proud that the leader of our team is showing our soldiers the respect that they deserve and trying to bring them a moment of joy amidst the chaos they endure daily. Thanks Coach Coughlin for looking out for our soldiers.

Without these men and women fighting over there, we would not be able to enjoy the life we lead here. So please take a moment to thank a soldier if you see one on the street. Stop what you are doing, look them straight in the eye and shake their hand. Buy them a beer or a slice of pizza if possible. My point is, we should all be very thankful for what our soldiers have endured. While you enjoy BBQ today with friends and family, you can be sure that somewhere overseas, our soldiers are in the middle of a fire fight. Honor them. Politics has no place on the battlefield and party affiliation means nothing when you are in the grip of war.

We must also remember the families and friends that are left behind. The sons and daughters of these brave men and women. The wives and husbands, the fathers and mothers. I’m not sure that anything can make things better for these people but a kind word or helping hand is the least we can do as a society. I come from a military family and my Uncle John was killed while spending time as a POW in Korea (the forgotten war) back in the day. I honor all of our fallen soldiers today but would like to personally honor my Uncle John. You are not forgotten!

If you have a family member or friend that you would like to honor today, you may do so in the comment area below.

God Bless and protect our soldiers everywhere around the world and God Bless the USA.
